Short Update

Once again time has got the better of us and we've fallen behind on keeping the blog up to date. This is primarily because logging into blogger is something that falls way down our list of priorities. However to combat this every increasing 'blog blackout' we will be moving it over to Tumblr in the near future to ensure that Ryan can produce tandem updates on his personal blog and our company one. This means further updates more frequently and a closer look at what we are up to on a weekly basis.

Since returning from North America we've been busy putting together the new video for Sharks (due to be released shortly) and also shot a brand new video for Brighton indie-rockers 'Jumping Ships'. Also in post-production is the Crime In Stereo DVD project that has been utilising a 14 person strong team from across the globe, and is setting up a world wide distribution network for the DVD. The project is a landmark in DVD production with it being available for free to fans across the world. The band and Crashburn Media are encouraging people to copy and pass around the DVD wherever possible to see how far the network can extend.

Other projects in the pipeline include a documentary on Sharks (the band) and also the final farewell documentary for The Ghost Of A Thousand. And finally we will be releasing our free NINE INCH NAILS DVD! Dates to follow.

We've also gone through several long process' of thought over the last month and have made some decisions as far as the company goes. Nothing bad nor drastic is happening but we'll be releasing a full breakdown of changes in due course. It's a strategy we will will strengthen and secure the future of Crashburn Media and allow us to have a greater say in our niche market.

This blog has got extremely far behind. What's our excuse? Not enough hours in the day.

As I write this I'm sat in El Paso Texas, working through emails and website updates, to the live sound of one of America's biggest punk bands, Social Distortion. I'm on the road with Sharks shooting their new music video and a short documentary on their first time in the great United States Of America. So far so good. There's a whole host of information I could give you but it would make this post far too long. We will be in the process of changing the blog structure upon my return to the UK where I can update things more often via a Tumblr structure.

We were also in Belgium last weekend shooting at Groezrock festival for Etnies and Front Magazine. A host of videos churned out by one of the team which gave fans at the festival a chance to see a quick recap of what had been going on via the mouths of various super star rock artists. A full edit is due to be released soon via the Etnies Europe facebook page, so if you want to keep up to date please go and like the page immediately via your facebook account. You can also see the videos that were posted over the weekend. Some very funny moments.

We continue into 2011 as a media company that is focused on not churning out the same things as everyone else. We're young and full of ideas on how to change the ever shifting face of viral media. We want to keep things interesting. We want to be leaders in our field. So far so good, we want more.

I'll leave this post with a picture from here in America, of the Sharks lads after their Albuquerque first show in New Mexico. Only 5 years ago we were filming a show in Falmouth Cornwall, with little idea of what was starting. Now we're on one of the biggest tours in America, working with incredibly talented individuals, all who have put their trust in us to deliver an amazing visual project. Funeral For A Friend's new LIVE DVD

As some maybe aware we shot Funeral For A Friend performing 'Casually Dressed And In Deep Conversation' in it's entirety, live in front of a sold out house at Shepherds Bush Empire earlier this year. The show was shot on 7 full HD cameras and was one hell of a party, celebrating Darren Jones' second to last time performing with the famous Welsh 5 piece who back in 2003 brought a new type of music to the ears of fans all over the United Kingdom. Four albums and countless EP's later, the band are still filling venues across the globe.

We've built a long term relationship working with the band, so it was only right that we provided their latest digital offering to fans, this being in the form of a new DVD featuring the Shepherds Bush performance along with some extra goodies! More information on this will be released via the band's website, but as you can probably imagine, we've over the moon to be creatively directing such a historical project. We can promise that fans will NOT be disappointed!

November Update

One day we'll employ someone to update all our online places, then we won't fall so far behind on keeping everyone in the loop!

We've had a busy October finishing off the Clear Notice Enter Calico project which can now be purchase direct on iTunes! For £7.99 you get all the tracks on the album plus the accompanying music videos executively produced by Crashburn Media. Even one of the videos has been directed and produced by Crashburn founder Ryan Mackfall. THIS IS FOR IPAD's ONLY! Sorry!

At the same time as all this happening we were on the road again with The Ghost Of A Thousand touring the UK filming more for the up coming 2011 documentary (which has yet to be titled). The first trailer for the documentary is due in December. You can keep up to date better on this by following our twitter!

After touring with TGOAT we had a 5 day break before we hit the road again with Foxy Shazam to film more stuff for Warner Records USA. Again we've produced a small set of videos for promotion of the band all over the world. The tour was a great success and saw the band have their first ever sold out show at The Borderline in Soho, London. One of the videos has already been released and we produced it in RECORD time. The production on all levels plus the release all went down in 8 HOURS! You can check the video out below, and all others will be released on the Foxy Shazam you tube channel in good time. Foxy Shazam's new album is out now online and at all good record stores.

Straight after returning from the Foxy Shazam tour (the day after we got back in fact) we were on site at Parc Signs Cornwall, filming a case study for Cornwall College Business. We're continuing to build a solid relationship with CCB who have been delighted with the production values we've brought to their website and conferences. Again the turn around for this was incredibly quick and the video was shot and released within 2 days. Further proof that we can provide excellent results no matter what the variables.

We're going to change the update structure of the blog now by trying to release posts about single projects rather than periods of time, so this should provide a more engaging and shorter read for you all! We've got some great projects coming up which you'll hear more about very soon.

Goodbye Summer, Hello Autumn.

See-ya summer. If you can call it a summer? I think us British folk need to accept that we no longer have 'normal' summers. But this isn't a weather blog so enough about that.

We've had a busy few months shooting a lot of video as well as easing in our new identity. Naturally it's been a case of making sure everything switches over seemlessly, and even though you might try hard to make it that way, there are always teething problems, which has been the case with our web address and team email address'. Thankfully it seems to be up to full speed now. You can reach our website now via any of the following URLs.

New clients through the door
Since the release of our two high profile videos 'Fed To The Ocean' by The Ghost Of A Thousand, and, 'Mr Red Eye' by Feed The Rhino, we've been bombarded with emails from various new clients asking us to shoot videos for them. This has been great and we've risen to the challenge and provided some original ideas which have gone down extremely well with fans. You'll see some of them in our next website video update.

Foxy Shazam
Warner Records USA and Foxy Shazam loved Ryan's last batch of videos so much they wanted more. In August Ryan headed out for a week period with the band, shooting some more web based content that will soon be released.

Crime In Stereo
If you're not aware, due to personal reasons, Crime In Stereo have now disbanded. The band remain the absolute best of friends. This meant we were left with a batch of footage for the planned Euro documentary, but no enough to complete it. Therefore we edited up a final short documentary video for the band to use to say farewell to their fans. Well, we never expected it to be as popular as it was. After just one week the video's total singular web hits amounted to well over TEN THOUSAND!

This was one of the best responses we could of ever hoped for. It also stands testament to the fact that no matter what we shoot, we always carry the principals of absolute high quality. Ten thousand views is what some videos take over a year to achieve, and we're very proud to have created a piece of work that many are hailing as 'one of the greatest ways a band could ever break up'. CANON 7D
Added to our ever increasing arsenal of equipment is the mighty CANON 7D. The camera boasts some of the highest quality 1080p footage on the market outside of it's larger HD brothers like the RED ONE (coming in at around £20,000+). Over the next few months we'll be building some pretty serious shooting rigs for both documentary and studio shooting so watch this space.

So we've had MAJOR blog problems over the last few months as google decided to change pretty much EVERYTHING about blogger, including their rules on posting flash content. Ouch. But Sam at Web Designer Cornwall finally got his teeth around it and we're back in full swing. Time to recap on the last few months.

Crashburn Productions ceases, Crashburn Media begins

So after much discussing and a lot of thought, the final decision was made in July for Crashburn Productions to come to an end. Why oh why you ask? We've started offering more than just video over the last year and we feel that the word 'productions' doesn't really sum us up. Our main drive is still video but we want to be seen as more of a one stop shop for people wanting visual communications on more levels. Still confused? Well just watch the changes as they unfold branding wise over the next couple of months. Some are subtle, some are more obvious.

Ok we know the website still says Crashburn Productions but that too will be changing next week. We're all still here and raring to go, we're just under a new guise. Oh and we've gone limited, meaning our larger clients can interact financially on a more sound ground. CRASHBURN MEDIA LIMITED is here. Hello everyone!

Feed The Rhino Music Video

In June we visited Kent and shot a rather nice music video for one of the UK's most talked about 'up and coming' bands. Feed The Rhino. The concept was fairly bold but we pulled it off. Ryan Mackfall directed the video, with assistant DOP Tom Griffiths on set. The Film Section

This leads me to the next point. You'll see our film section has changed, and for the better. No one likes scrolling down a page, especially when you reach the end of it and your finger feels like its going to drop off from about 2000 turns of your mouse's scroll wheel. So we've changed it all around to make it easier to look at our content. We're gonna keep the best of the best on the site, and old videos will be viewable on our vimeo page (a link is available below the content box). We also handed a neat little twitter feed so you guys can be checking out the video content and seeing what we're currently up to!

Cornwall College Web Content

A new client for us who were VERY welcome. Cornwall College Business is a major part of the Cornish business infrastructure (yes we do more than tourism down here). They required some new upbeat videos focusing on specific areas of their position within the local business community, this ranged from talking to apprentices, to mentors, to local firms. You get the picture. One of the videos is available on the film section to give you a taste of what the videos are about.

Crime In Stereo / Spycather

Both bands that are familiar with team crashburn, and both of them asked us to go out on the road with them to do some filming (separate projects). Both will be available for viewing online soon.

Red Bull

A new client to team crashburn, Red Bull UK asked us into their London studio to work with Twin Atlantic who were doing a live session. The shoot went down extremely well and the content will be available soon via Red Bull. We'll let you know more when we know more, you'll hear it here first!

Jagermeister

Jagermeister, another new client, wanted team crashburn in on a studio session of their own at Brighton Electric studios. Our friends in The Ghost Of A Thousand decided to do their own cover of rock legends ACDC's 'BACK IN BLACK'. Our mission was to film the two days of recording and output a high quality web video for use on Jagermeister's official site. We succeeded. As always, release details will come from us as soon as we know them.

Busy times!

THE SHAPED BY FATE DVD

IT'S DONE AND DUSTED! So the DVD we've created is done, and has had its journey to the DVD duplicators. The band recently toured with Born From Pain and a limited TOUR EDITION of the DVD was available on the merch stall. This was a tour exclusive however there maybe a small number going online at some point. But the full release of the DVD comes on APRIL 26TH at Cardiff's swanky Buffalo Bar. It's going to be one hell of a night, we hope to see all the fans there who took part in the DVD. For more information see below! CDA CINEMA ADVERT

So we successfully shot and produced an advert for Cornish Dyslexia Association to highlight the key fact that dyslexia affects people of all ages, not just children and youths. It was shot in a location in Truro city over an evening and featured actual attendees of the CDA's workshops. If you want to see the advert then attend any of Cornwall's cinemas this April, and keep your eyes peeled during the adverts at the start of your feature.

'FED TO THE OCEAN' MUSIC VIDEO RELEASE FOR THE GHOST OF A THOUSAND

The video for Fed To The Ocean will be released this April. Shot and directed by Ryan Mackfall, the video gives a sneek peek at the footage that has been shot for a forthcoming documentary on the band. FOXY SHAZAM

In February we spent a week in London working with American band Foxy Shazam for an exclusive project for their label Warner Records USA. The series 'Foxy Shazam: An American Band In London' gives a look at some of the band's antics while they were in our fair capital. GOODTIME BOYS

A group of friends from Cardiff who have recently started a band called GOODTIME BOYS. The band visited Cornwall to play a couple shows with The Computers and we popped along to a show to film a couple of short LO-FI live promotional videos. These can be viewed on Ryan's vimeo or just one of them below. The turn around for these videos was extremely quick, a useful trait to any band that is looking for something to release to its fans or for general PR. Happy new year to everyone! So what has been going on with team CBP?

We've begun the year with a very heavy workload editing up a host of projects and planning a fair few new ones. Here is a very brief run down of things.

THE GHOST OF A THOUSAND

We've worked with TGOAT numerous times over the years and now we are aiming to bring two special bits of work your way. Firstly, the new music video which will be coming your way at the end of this month. The second is a project that has taken many hours of travelling, many late nights and many a piss take from Jag Jago (guitarist of the band and good friend). This project has yet to have details released, and we are saying no more than that. Details will be released over the next couple of months, but we promise it will be worth the wait.

EVERY TIME I DIE

We headed into London on Christmas week very briefly to film our friends in Every Time I Die play a small london show at the Borderline at the very end of their Taste Of Chaos European tour. Supported by their friends Maylene & The Sons Of Disaster, the show was off the chain and saw many a stage dive along with a couple of split open heads! The footage was filmed exclusively for the bands upcoming DVD release and will be sure not to disappoint any fans. The DVD is being created by long term friend and videographer of Every Time I Die Doug Spangenberg. As always when we receive more details, you will be the first to know

TR14ERS

Slight delay in the release of the full documentary due to various unforeseen technical problems, but we are pleased to let you all know that this long awaited piece of work produced solely by Crashburn Productions will be available on You Tube and our Vimeo from Sunday January 10th onwards. Links will be provided in our next update, but if you can't wait that long, just search 'TR14ers Royal Gala Performance' on either of the sites and you'll be presented with the video.

SHAPED BY FATE 'RIFFAGE AND WRECKAGE' DVD

Originally we planned for this project to be released after more filming had been done in 2010, but after a long discussing and much deliberation, we will be bringing it to you this year. And when we say this year, we don't mean September, we mean, around February! The DVD is currently being finished off in the edit suite by Ryan Mackfall (video editing) and our new kid on the block Chris Shaw (motion graphics & VFX). If you think you've seen it all before, be prepared for a shock, chris know's his stuff and we've gone to town on the titles for this DVD.

Greetings everyone,

wow is that the time, we didn't realise that over 2 months has passed? Time flies. But what it boils down to is a lot of hardcore editing, cleaning up old stocks, being on the road filming and doing bits locally for various companies and organisations. Much of the work has had exclusivity rights meaning a natural delay period before we can show you all via our site. Were pleased to say that a video update is however coming to the site this week. Here's a written breakdown of what the team have been doing.

VANS SHOES
So as many of you know we were at boardmasters filming not only for Relentless but also VANS. The first of the podcasts is now available for download, check the vans uk website for more details, or if you are a bit too lazy you can check out the embedded version below. The weekend had some awesome music in the tent and the action was non stop on the stage. The second part of the podcast is due to be released very shortly.

We were also at the OFF THE WALL MUSIC NIGHT in Birmingham which saw yet again more blinding music acts taking the stage. The podcast is currently in the final stages of the edit process and should be coming your way very soon. Keep your eyes on the vans website for more details, or even better, add our facebook page or twitter (details at the end of this blog entry).

MARINERS
We took a leap of faith, yes we really did. Music industry work is great, we all love working with bands, but realistically at the moment (in our current economical climate) this won't support the company 100% of the time and won't allow it to grow to be stronger. So we've branched out into pastures new and collaborated with a good friend. Naturally with all our endeavours we won't work with anyone that is unable to produce a high quality product, and Sam (our friend) is no exception. His work is becoming increasingly popular in the southwest and he is the man behind our latest website. His company goes by the name of Webdesigner Cornwall. Our fusion will take the form of a project designed to work exclusively with business' and organisations around the country. Watch out world, here comes the Collaborations team. Mariners involved myself and Tom working on photo and video which had the angle to show the world how mariners is one of the best takeaways in the United Kingdom. You think we're joking? The Mariners team then asked us back a month later to film another video but based outside of the business. The brief was to show how the company team build outside of the work place to improve relations within it! Check it out below, or on the mariners website.

PENRYN FOOTBALL DEVELOPMENT CENTRE
Our long awaited PFDC video has been released and can now be seen on the PFDC website: http://www.pfdc.co.uk. The PFDC website was also created under Collaborations!

CANCER BATS
Our friends from Canada visited our region of the UK for a short 2 day period where we filmed both shows they were involved with. As always it was great fun and the results are going to be put together for use by the band as online content.

F*CKED UP
Canadian rockers F*ucked Up co-headlined one of the Cancer Bat's south west shows. We filmed their set which turned out to be one of the most eventful ones of 2009! A video release of one track from the night will be online in early 2010 for all to see.

TR14ERS
Cornish registered charity the 'TR14ers' held a gala event at the Hall For Cornwall in September and we were called in to record the evening for a short documentary. The event saw performances from the Tr14ers dance troop and various local bands and choirs, all watched under the guise of the charity's royal patrons. Hosted by the world famous Sir Tim Rice the evening was a complete success and highlights via the documentary will soon be available for all to see on our website.

THE GHOST OF A THOUSAND
Over the past 2 years we have been involved with The Ghost Of A Thousand on various events throughout the country. This year saw us take to the road with them on a 6 week long stint on the Eastpak tour to film the goings on for one of the UK's most talented punk rock bands. Be it on stage, in the dressing room, or broken down on a french motorway, we were there. The culmination of this will take form in two main parts. One, a music video and two, a visual project which cannot currently be named (don't you hate it when we do that!). As usual, we've got nothing more to say until both us and the band are happy with the final idea, and its direction is 100% set in stone. Don't worry though, we are about 79% there, honest.

The guys have also released 2 of our live audio tracks from their Boardmasters 2009 performance on a limited edition 7" vinyl. This is something we are over the moon with, especially myself as it's been released on Burning Heart/Epitaph, the same as Refused, who have always been a solid influence musically to me. Not only that, it was mixed at Abbey Road studios. Thanks go out to our man Bob Barnes who did a brilliant job recording everything 'audio' at boardmasters. The vinyl was available on the entire Eastpak tour but should be available also online very soon. Take a look below at a thing of beauty.

BLACKHOLE LIVE & IN SESSION

Relentless Boardmasters 2009

What a week, one of our busiest of the year, and possibly, one of our busiest ever. The people at Relentless Energy called on the Crashburn Productions team to provide the necessary high quality visual content from the festival, so we arrived at Boardmasters on the Wednesday for 5 days of surfing, sports and music action. Our mission was to capture an entire overview of the week for the Relentless Energy website. Tom was also on hand to snap everything and anything, taking over 7000 photos by the end of the project. It was long days, long nights and not much sleep but we came through with the results, showing the festival as one of the UK's best surfing and music events. PFDC Project

We were involved in a shoot the other week for Penryn Football Development Club, a local organisation which is gaining much respect amongst Cornish youngsters as a place to learn how to become the next David Beckham. We kid you not these kids have got some great skills. Video and photos were shot, and both areas were highly successful. We came away with some truely inspiring visuals which you will see appear over the next month or two on the PFDC website. For now here are some photos which Mr Griffiths took. The video part is currently being colour graded and prepared for the web. When it's completed a link will be posted for you all to see so keep coming back and checking up. As far as the photos go, you can see why we are the obvious choice for photography out of any local competitors. I'll stop ranting and let the images do the talking.

We've just had it confirmed that our 'Cities and Years' video we will be featuring on the forthcoming brand spanking new Every Time I Die album 'New Junk Asthetic' bonus DVD! We are flattered that the band have requested our work to be a part of their next audio/visual masterpiece. It is also a privilege to have it featuring on a piece of work filmed and created by Doug Spangenberg, a videographer who has inspired Crashburn Productions on many levels.

Every Time I Die recently signed to American music giants Epitaph, meaning this will be a world wide release. A release date has yet to be confirmed.

Blackhole - Live & In Session

So we've just come back from a weekend in Watford working with our friends in Blackhole to produce 'Blackhole - Live & In Session'.

The project started on the evening of Friday 19th June at Broadfield studios in Watford, after a long drive from our base camp (having to negotiate the M25 in rush hour part of the way). After everyone set up their gear we did a few test shots and then called it a night before the next day's full hit.

Next day we kicked off early at 9.30am and proceeded to bash out the tunes until around 5pm. Things got hot pretty quick thanks to the 4 Parcans we modified with some full CT blue gel's to take away the orangeness. We had to take regular breaks to make sure the guys in the band weren't going to pass out. Alex (drummer) had the worst deal out of everyone due to the fact he had a parcan directly behind his back. In case you're wondering how hot that is, its like playing drums hard and fast for 6 odd hours with your back to a blazing fire. Sound was recorded by studio owner Thomas Mitchener (better known as Mitch from Spycatcher and Haunts) who was one of the best hosts we've had in any studio project to date. We always find it easier to work in conditions where everyone is relaxed, friendly and generally pretty jovial and this instance was no exception.

The project is looking to hit the public eye in September time when Blackhole's new album 'Dead Hearts' is released. Four songs were recorded, and that is ALL we are saying! There will be a series of poster adverts being created by us for the web and also a video teaser that will be with you around August. If you can't wait that long, never fear, here are a couple of photos from the batch that Tom G took on the weekend. We like to keep you guys interested!

Canadian Punk Metallers Cancer Bats have just released their BONUS version of their highly acclaimed album 'Hail Destroyer' containing 4 new tracks and also a DVD. On this rather shiny nice DVD you can get a whole host of behind the scenes footage of the band on the road, backstage and practically anywhere else they went with their camera. Tacked in with this highly amusing footage are 5 live performances of various tracks. We are pleased to announce that 1 of the 5 performances is a video we completed for the band earlier this year. 'Sorceress' was shot at Glasgow's plush ABC venue while the band were supporting Funeral For A Friend on their 'Memory And Humanity' UK tour. Make sure you get out there and grab a copy of this album because it should be staple in any riff lovers record collection. We've got a backlog of Sikth footage from various show they played within their final 6 months. This will come together in the next month to form a montage to the band who inspired so many UK metal heads to bang their heads that little bit harder. Montage projects are something we really enjoy doing but unfortunately have to come second to our main clients, this means it can take a little longer for them to surface. This morning we also ventured into one of our first business collaborations with webdesigner cornwall. Working with Sam Manley (who actually designed our new website) we will be creating the visuals for a brand new website for a local business. Productive stuff

We've resolved the issue we had with You Tube not accepting our video formats, meaning some of our videos that were being sent out to 'I Surrender' Records (Four Year Strong's label) weren't being shown in the correct format. This obviously was a massive bummer.

But after an hour of tweaking and trialing we managed to get our videos looking pretty good on You Tube (obviously not as good as vimeo though!)

Site update is due to come in the next couple of weeks. Firstly a text update in the next couple of days then a video update. We've got a fair few videos in the pipeline which are raring to be put up onto the site. A couple are still waiting for the green light from management labels (a common occurance as anyone in the music industry will know).

Work on the backbeatsoundsystem music video is underway. We did some test shots on Monday night to check an idea that the video is going to house, results are looking good. The video is looking to be shot at the end of May/start of June depending on how well the pre-production process goes.

Four Year Strong Webisode 7 is due out early next week so keep an eye out.

So there's been a pretty lengthy gap in correspondence on the blog over the last month or so due to efforts being concentrated into different areas. Now the website has been launched it means we can keep up to date with things a little better.

At the moment it's all systems go for the shaped by fate DVD. We really are putting all our efforts into finishing this DVD before summer. So far the DVD is around 50 minutes long and follows the band as they travel through the UK on their tour with Parkway Drive, Suicide Silence and Bury Your Dead. Chris Shaw (our newest addition to the team for motion graphics) is working alongside myself to put together some breathtaking titles which we feel no other band in the UK has yet had on their DVD's. We really are aiming to step the bar. No previews are available nor scheduled to be shown of what we are doing, so it really is a case of watch this space. The band are currently on tour around the UK with Devil Sold His Soul so if you get the chance to get involved in a show, please do as you will be in for an awakening of epic proportions. The Anathallo documentary is complete, well almost! We just need to tweak a couple titles and we are away. Basically the rendering process threw up problems making a few of the titles look grainy which is unacceptable. More news to follow as and when the band view the finished product!

SQUARE EYES

6 hours straight of hardcore editing on the Shaped By Fate DVD leaves you, um what's the word, drained. By breaking my own rule of editing no more than 4 hours without a rest gap, we've gone many steps forward today. Looking on an even broader scale, this month has pushed the project onward by leaps and bounds as we start piecing together the main body and the intro for the DVD (which can only be described as something that is going to put a lot of bands and their DVDs to complete shame).

This project has two aims:

1) To let the world know why they should be paying more attention to Shaped By Fate.
2) To show people why they should be our clients.

Shaped By Fate 'Riffage and Wreckage', is due to be released in ? (date yet TBC), but what we can say is that we are aiming for this to wake up a lot of bands in the UK and abroad to what their DVDs should be like. Not convinced? We don't care. Just wait and see.

The website has hit a couple issues with the lay out of the videos section. We are working super hard and as fast as possible to get everything back on track. I don't want anything released that isn't 100% what I'm happy with, which is why this whole process has taken, many cups of tea at Sam Manley's house while leaning on his breakfast bar discussing what is expected of this new site. It's coming I promise, in all it's HD glory. Sam is also designing our new t-shirts for us as well, so as soon as the site is done, the t-shirts will follow on immediately.

Stickers are on the way, the design process is due to start soon. Once we've got some ideas I will be posting them to the blog.

As you probably know, we had a fair bit of snow the other week. I was trapped in my village for a day so I decided to head outside with my camera and film a bit of the winter wonderland. If you fancy checking out this personal project then click on the link below and have a butchers.

It's not us alas, but neverless this shouldn't go unnoticed.

Our friends in the Architects have just got a well deserved 5k's in their album review in Kerrang! This is something not to be taken lightly, and it is something that is definately not handed out left right and centre to bands. Persistance and hard work have brought these guys to the place they are now and its a lesson everyone can take away with them, even if you aren't involved in music.

The album comes out on Monday 26th January so please be sure to go out and pick a copy up and support these guys. DON'T DOWNLOAD IT FOR FREE. We all know there is a recession going on, the government have even admitted it now, so help out Architects and buy yourself the album and if you are feeling especially flash then go and get yourself a t-shirt.

Edits heading out of the operation room

The live videos we are doing for Cancer Bats are almost complete now. Where they are being used is still unknown but be sure that as soon as we know you, shall also know.

The anathallo documentary is entering it's final stages. It's currently having colour correction done on a number of scenes and also the fat is being cut away to make it as interesting as possible. Test screenings are going out but only to close personal friends (who have myself added on facebook). The full public viewing is down to the band and where they see fit to release it.

The new webisode for Four Year Strong is also coming this week.

Anathallo Live Video

We've just put up a video which we actually shot nearly a year ago. Anathallo hail from the US (many of them from Boston) and are one of the greatest bands we've ever worked with. Some of their good friends include Brand New, Manchester Orchestra and Mewithoutyou. So many bands these days feel they have the God given right to talk to their fans like trash. This is something I never personally understand. Anathallo on the other hand are the exact opposite. They will take the time to talk to anyone that is a fan and have a genuine positive mental attitude that is contagious to all. They shared hotel rooms, their food and their stories with us (about so many bands you wouldn't believe). In a nutshell, they treated us like one of their own. For that reason these guys have our eternal respect. Check out the video of one of the new songs 'Italo' off their recent album release 'Canopy Glow' (available via Itunes and Amazon). I suggest everyone checks out Canopy Glow and also their previous release 'Floating World'. If you like music that goes down a different route from the rest of the pack, and has an intelligent basis, Anathallo are right up your street. Happy December everyone!

The time to update is here. We've been busy over November with some major stuff, one of which was going on tour with Four Year Strong on the 'Easy Core' UK Tour headlined by New Found Glory. We are rinsing through the footage now capturing for us to create some webcasts for the band.

We are pleased to also announce that our funeral for a friend video for 'Wolves' was released officially on myspace via their profile and also featured on the myspace music page as official content. We were naturally over the moon about this. The label are currently sorting out with us what the rest of the show is to be used for. We have videos on the way from the same show for Cancer Bats and In Case Of Fire. We've been waiting and waiting and waiting for vimeo to make international billing for the plus account available. And the bad news is......... everyone is still waiting, apart from us. Thanks to a nice American gent on vimeo we managed to sort out paying him to gift us the plus account. So this means HD embedded videos on our new site, and lots of HD uploads! Our site has been on the slow progress track due to this delay but now this puts us BACK ON TRACKKKK!

Sadly to report this month, we are no longer part of the post codes project. This decision has been made in the best interests of both us at CBP and Martin Yelland's team. We are all friends still however creatively we were clashing on some issues which didn't make a healthy working situation for anyone. So to save any further problems we are stepping back for other people to come into play in the project, we know its going to be a really amazing film regardless of us not being involved! Branding and trailer information will all be available on our portfolio on our new website, so if anyone does want us to be involved in the creative direction of any projects they can get an idea of what we are all about.

Hull Metal Festival is finally finished. However the release date is still being negotiated with Afterlife Productions. So we really have no idea to when it is coming out!

The Shaped By Fate dvd is still in production, watch this space this month for more information!

Back in black

Hey all

sorry for the lack of update on the blog, it's been a few strange weeks here in the Crashburn camp. A lot of rough and smooth.

For the most part, the last few weeks have been made up of editing. I'm trying to achieve a complete clearance of all work before 2008 is out. Plus I've been in close contact with Sam Manley at webdesignercornwall.com preparing the final design ideas for our new website. I've deliberately taken us down the quiet route for the last month or two so that we can come back bigger and more bad ass than ever.

But the harvest has arrived, yes, as the festival circuit gets shut down, the gig season opens up fully. We've started winter off already with a superb show up in Scotland filming Funeral For A Friend along with Cancer Bats and In Case Of Fire at the ABC Glasgow. Good times. We had a blast filming the show and then packed up and headed over to Glasgow barfly with Liam from the Bats and got a bit of late night Cancer Bats secret show action, support coming from the Legacy. Hull Metal Festival DVD is coming, honestly....... no really it is. James is releasing it just before christmas so stay tuned for information on this very soon!

We've got various other video releases coming your way, some of them you actually can't see yet on our site due to exclusive rights held by clients. But as soon as they are available we will link you directly. Also a fairly big deal for us is the new vimeo, it's now opening up business for people who want to get that little more (which we do), so pretty soon our useage limits will be increased along with some other sweet options. They are going to be directly involved on the new site, hosting our videos. It's something very new thats only just coming to us over seas users, America currently has it already (lucky them).

What a gap in blogging! But it's been a turbulent couple of weeks with so much changing in the way of work that we've just not had time to sit down and blog it up. But here is a fresh batch of photos Chris has just done from the Rip Curl Boardmasters of our friends Ghost of a Thousand.

We actually were denied access to Reading/Leeds at the last minute. This was all to do with facility fees costing around £2,500 which quite frankly we thought was a ridiculous price for ONE SONG RECORDED. Unfortunately though this is the way of things when it comes to filming live events, we understand it and accept it. That doesn't mean to say we weren't extremely gutted not to be onstage filming gallows and thrice. Other chances will come around though!

We've been confirmed for Bury Your Dead and Emmure in December at the White Rabbit Plymouth, this should be a fun show with filming and photos going down. We've also been called in to edit up the footage for the RNLI and their end of year lifeguard event at the Sandsifter Godrevy, details on this are vague at the moment but more information coming soon.

The pablo project should be starting soon, should the weather permit. This is going to be filmed at various points over Autumn where we can fit it in. We've got the lights and generators on standby.

The obsydian tears video is basically done, I just need to collect a few last shots to round it off and get various sounds for the start of the video. That will be released via the band and also us on our vimeo.

There will be a trailer released for the shaped by fate DVD very very soon, finishing touches are being fine tuned and we should have something next week to show. There is also work in the pipeline with our friends Funeral For A Friend, Cancer Bats and Blackhole. Again more news on this coming soon!

Post Codes should really kick off big time over the next few months as winter time means more swell. Which means more waves! I've also got plans for some filming next year in other countries. Ideas flying around at the moment are, Ireland (to film some bodyboarding), Alaska, New York and finally Australia. The whole idea behind this is Crashburn ON TOUR, me taking the company to different places to really open up the portfolio. This is all very much in the idea stage though.

The new website is on the way and its looking KFC finger licking good. It's being designed by our good friend Sam Manley over at Webdesigner Cornwall. I've been sat in a couple sessions with Sam showing him exactly what we want. We aren't releasing ANY previews at all, it's just going to be a hard opening of the site. We aim to have it up in around a month or so. Merch and other things are on the way too, it's definately all go. Keep your eyes on my vimeo over the next month for lots of new videos.

Rip Curl Boardmasters - Thurs, Fri, Sat & Sun

Ok so we lagged a bit behind on these 'real time' updates but what with the hectic (and I mean hectic) times we had over the weekend we just didn't get a chance. A general round up would be that Thursday was ok weather, the surf was pretty good for august too with some great competing going on, we also caught our friend Ruarri Joseph playing his set in the Beach Sessions tent in the evening which was awesome.

Friday was amazing weather, hot, sunny, blue skys. We spent part of the afternoon filming and photographing the relentless tow AT riders at Fistral. Once we finished there we high tailed it to Watergate bay to film Haunts ripping the stage up and see the thousands of festival goers let their hair down.

Saturday could only be described as a nightmare. The worst conditions we have ever filmed in. The stage almost got shut down because the wind and water was so much of a hazard. Mud was an understatement. The whole place turned into a bog. Bands filmed were, In Case Of Fire, Skirtbox, Hexes, Johnny Truant, Ghost of a Thousand and Gallows.

Sunday saw the final of the competition and again bad weather, but all in all, this was a good week where we got all we went to collect. Promo videos and podcasts will be available very soon so watch this space!

Rip Curl Boardmasters - Wednesday

Ok so we kicked off our time at the boardmasters in Newquay this week. It was wet, muggy, and busy but things went surprisingly well thanks to the kind people at Kodak who provided us with some camera ponchos! They kept our gear dry while we filmed the surfers battle it out on what were surprisingly good waves for August! We also wondered around the various other areas when the weather permitted. I've already ripped all the footage we collected today off onto our super drive so we can start editing quickly next week. The additional 5 minute video from t in the park will also be available next week. Here are a few photos of the day's trials and tribulations.

Just finished uploading a taster for our clients at Pengersick Castle. It's for their upcoming info-dvd we are putting together so people on ghost nights can get a little information before they set out into the castle. No public taster is available yet, just a private password protected one for the guys at pengersick :P haha, a preview will be up when it's finished though.

Also we had our end of work tag video delivered last night, it's looking good! This really should put more of a mark on our work. It was done by a friend who also did the intro for sky sports news. Old pieces of work will just be left with the static old cbp logo, new pieces will get the lavish new tag! An example of it coming very soon.

The Funeral For A Friend videos are all edited together we are just waiting for the audio to come from our sound deptartment. As you might or might not be aware, the desk that we took the feed from on that fateful night in newport at the FFAF show was a deadweight, most of the output ports gave us nothing, we came away with nothing usable from the desk due to poor information given to us before the show which meant we didn't hire splitters. However, this is a valuable lesson learned and we are buying our own splitter system which means we can avoid such problems in future. Please be sure to give us all the information on any equipment at a venue when you hire us, it means we can prepare accordingly, not turn up and start doing backflips! We fall to learn from our mistakes.

Looking forward though positively, we've just been confirmed for another job with relentless at the RIP CURL BOARDMASTERS Newquay! This means we are back in the relentless area, tearing around with cameras, pushing them in your face, getting you all to have a great time! Please do come and say hello if you are around, and come and show your support for our friends in Haunts on the Friday, Ghost of a Thousand, Gallows and Johnny Truant on the Saturday.

This is the back wall of Bar 200 truro. Just went to see my friends in backbeatsoundsystem, an amazingly talented reggae band, and spotted this. A lot of the CBP crew go to bar 2oo for shows so it was nice to see a little bit of representation!

I upgraded the chariot video on our vimeo to glorious HD. You can now view it in a better resolution here with a full write up (the below video is an embedded smaller version). In case you weren't aware, in the spirit of the chariot videos, we made a kind of experimental video for 'forgive me nashville'. It was so hot the lenses were steaming up faster than we could wipe them, but all in all, we like it. So check it out.

Relentless called us in to film everything in their area at Scotland's T in the Park recently, we've put a 1 minute client teaser on our vimeo. This 1 minute teaser will be passed around to their clients to show how the weekend was a success. A few of the photos are below. We had a great time filming and hung with some great bands. Free relentless however does crazy things to your body when consumed in LARGE quantities haha, but obviously in good ways! Some photos our man Tom Griffiths took are below.

Just a little something

Thought it would be a good idea to start a blog of what we are doing so people can keep up to date easily rather than firing out myspace bullitens all the time. I tried doing my own personal blog about what is going on but that seems to just have got tangled in personal topics etc, so I'll cleanse that right out and provide a link for it at a later date where you can see what projects are happening on a personal level. It's not much though really because most things are created and/or scripted out by me and then produced via the crashburn collective haha.

But it's a nice little place to start talking about what we are doing and grab a little personal insight into it, without taking things too seriously! We don't want this to get too serious, it's just something fun me and the crew can use to write up this and that (but in a non offensive way), remaining professional but fun.
